Cycling becomes more and more attractive for ladies. It;s a great way to engage with nature, with yourself, your lady-friends and to enhance your physical condition! You can see on the streets that more ladies chose to be active in this sport and in the tv, cycling for ladies is also gaining more attention. In other wordt, why not following the examples from those who preceeded you, like Leontien van Moorsel or Marianne Vos? This ladies have, with their effort and passion for the sport, found a way to get the attention from the men and from the world to show that ladies are also capable of been fit, fast and mean! Sorry, lean ;-).

That's why we want to motivate you to practice this sport either for yourself, with your partner or with those who share the sam passion you do. By giving you this clinic, we try to make sure you hit the road on a safe and pleasant way. Make sure to be able to follow the rules of the road accordingly, use your material properly and learn to help yourself in times of trouble, by learning to fix a tire or your bike on your own.

This clinic will take about an hour and half. We start with a little bit of theory, so every time you follow our clinics, you learn a little bit more about the sport and about your own, personal improvements. After the theoretical part, we hit the road together. As we are cycling, the instructor will give you tips and tricks along the way. We cycle every time through new routes, you every ride becomes a memorable moment for yourself and those cycling along with you. After cycling, there's time for coffee or tea and a little treat to regain your energy again.

In case you don't have a bicycle, it's possible to rent one from us. The rental is including a helmet and the type of pedals which suit you better.

 What can you expect

  • Rendezvous: Straakvense Bosdijk 96, Helmond (Born to Succeed)
  • Time to meet: 16.00 uur, we depart at 16.15 hours.
  • ETA after the clinic: at about 17.45 hours.

During this clinic we'll give special attention to cycling safely on your own, but also with other people. This on the following aspects:

  • Appropiate use of your material, like braking and changing gears on time.

  • Learn how to handle your bike, specially while cycling with others. Learn to keep each other out of the wind.

  • Basic techniques which will help you get through unexpected situations on the road, which might be necessary as we ride.

Gear up! From heels to wheels...

  • You'll be needing clycing clothing. If you have none, a legging and a sportive shirt might be enough. If it's windy or even cold, wear multiple, thin layers. The better the clothing suits you, the less drag you'll have from the wind.

  • It can be cold, so make sure you wear and undershirt, and then your cycling gear. The best is to wear a windproof jacket or a windbreaker. The instructor can advice you which type of clothing might be the best for different types of circumstances.

  • Try to wear clip-on shoes which 'stick' to your pedals. It might be scary at the beginning, but as you get more comfortable with these shoes, you'll notice that you cycle way more effectively than when you simply wear sports shoes on normal pedals.

  • Wear sunglasses and gloves. In case you fall, this equipment can offer you extra protection.

  • It's imperative for you to wear a helmet, "No helmet, no cycling fun!"

 Nutrition on the road

As you're cycling, you'll be burning plenty of calories. This energy needs to be replenished every now and then, in order to prevent you from hitting "the hammer man". In other words, once your energy is depleted, you might find yourself in the middel of nowhere without power to move on and food to help you do so. That's why it's important to eat what you need beforehand, but also to take some food with you. The instructor will teach you which kind of sports nutrition suits the best for which kind of ride. For this one, one piece of bread with jam may be enough. A sports bar is also an option.

 Once we're back

After the ride, we can drink something together, have a little chat and take a small bite so you can get home safely again.
